FrontRange Solutions acquires Centennial Software

FrontRange strengthens Service Management, Help Desk and Client Lifecycle portfolio with market-leading Asset Discovery, License Management and Endpoint Security solutions

FrontRange Solutions today announced that it has acquired Centennial Software. Centennial, a recognized market leader in Dynamic Infrastructure Management Products, including Auto-Discovery, Inventory Management and License Management Solutions, serves more than 3,200 supported customers worldwide, with an expansive market presence and more than 200 partners across the globe.

We’ve seen a growing trend of service desk customers selecting ITAM tools based on their satisfaction with the service and support from the service desk vendor, and on the functionality of the service desk product, with an eye toward the potential benefits to be derived from a suite-based solution said Patricia Adams, Gartner Research Director. Having an accurate idea of what hardware and software is installed in the environment is a necessity to being able to manage it. Essentially, if you don’t know what is installed, then it is impossible to keep track of or manage it.

FrontRange Solutions, with demonstrable revenue growth of over 35% over the prior fiscal year, will utilize Centennial to strengthen its portfolio of products by adding its award winning discovery, asset management, license management, and end-point security products.

FrontRange and Centennial both offer industry leading best of breed products and solutions. By combining our complementary products and technologies we will be able to provide the most comprehensive end to end IT solutions in the market today while delivering unparalleled value to our customers. With our more than 10,000 IT customers, over 400 partners and market leading portfolio of products, we are excited about beginning our new year with the addition of Centennial to our strategy. I’m confident FrontRange Customers and Partners will see this as a natural evolution of our Product and Company strategy, said Michael McCloskey, CEO of FrontRange Solutions.

McCloskey continued, Combined with such obvious synergies in our go-to-market strategies, customer base, geographic presence, and solution focus, the acquisition is entirely logical and provides an ideal outcome for both companies. This acquisition is a reflection of our commitment to global markets, and will further strengthen our International revenues, already approaching half of our total revenues today.

Andy Burton, CEO of Centennial Software, commented: By joining forces with FrontRange, our customers and partners will be able to realize additional value from their existing investments by accessing a wider portfolio of market-leading solutions designed to help them manage IT operations more effectively. Having the support of the wider FrontRange organization will also help Centennial build on its strong performance in the UK and European regions by accelerating its growth in key markets such as North America and APAC.

With greater regulation, best practice standards and the economic downturn driving the need for greater control of IT assets and operations than ever before, Centennial Software’s solutions are designed to help customers achieve reductions in cost, complexity and risk. Centennial flagship brands include Centennial Discovery, Centennial License Manager and Centennial DeviceWall. Centennial Software sells its products primarily through a global network of reseller and OEM partners, including managed service providers.

Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Governance initiatives are taking more CIO and IT manager time”, said Fred Broussard, Research Director, Enterprise System Infrastructure Software, for IDC. “Solutions such as FrontRange’s, augmented with asset discovery and license management capabilities into its core portfolio, can help IT organizations address this critical function.
