HP announced yesterday the release of RFID functionality into it’s hardware. Those customers using an HP RFID solution can take advantage of greater asset visibility and physical location tracking of HP hardware.
Commenting on the service, John Fontenalla, vice president, AMR Research said “This new service is key to strengthening operational precision in a data center and ultimately customers’ ability to lower operational risks”.
This is also useful for items either temporarily or permanently off the network to reduce the requirement for a walk-around physical audit of IT Assets for due diligence or compliance purposes.
