USU Buys Majority Stake In Aspera

USU Aspera PartnershipConsolidation in the ITAM industry continues as Aspera and USU announce a strategic partnership.

USU has bought a 51% stake in the License Management specialist (for around 3M Euros) with a view to acquiring the company outright over two years.

Although only small with around 90 customers, Aspera has managed to accrue an enviable list of high profile Enterprise level customers including 8 out of 10 top companies on the German stock exchange.

Deutsche Telekom, BASF, BMW, Nokia Siemens Networks and Orange are all said to rely on Aspera’s license management technology.

USU has strengthened it’s Service Management, IT Infrastructure and BSM portfolio. The two German vendors state that they are to keep their respective brands – “Everything stays the same, only better”.

Commenting on the acquisition, Bernhard Böhler, managing director of Aspera GmbH said “The combination with the USU Group enables us firstly to continue our pace of growth within Germany and secondly to gain a visible scale in order to be able to grow more strongly at an international level in future. At the same time, we are offering our employees long-term prospects in an established and healthy company”
