Receiving an ITAM Review Excellence Award: 'an honour and a motivation'

In November 2017, the ITAM Review Excellence Awards returns for the third year to celebrate the achievements of the true pioneers in the ITAM industry. The awards recognise ITAM professionals, service providers, technology vendors and specialists who are progressing the industry and leading the field in 2017.

As we collect nominations for this year’s categories, some of our 2016 winners reflect on their accolades and explain why you should take the time to submit your votes.

Jochen Hagenlocher, Novartis – Winner of ITAM Professional of the Year 2016:

“Receiving the prestigious ITAM Professional of the Year 2016 Award was the personal highlight of my SAM/ITAM professional career so far.

I can only encourage you all to put your name and project forward to compete for this highly recognized industry award.

Hearing my name called out and getting on stage was like a dream come true. As a professional, it is great to go beyond your safe company boundaries and compete with your industry peers.

Almost one year later I had the opportunity to speak in London, Moscow, Boston and Berlin and meet with many other experts in the field. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to participate. See you at the charity award dinner, maybe you are the next chosen one. May the SAM Force be with you”.

George Arezina, Roche – Winner of ITAM Project of the Year 2016:

“Recognition for the best SAM project of the year award felt very gratifying, such an award is not only important for our industry in order to increase credibility, and get SAM “seat at the table” but also for employers to attract new talent, and recognize the well-deserved achievements of the existing team.

The one thing that differentiates the ITAM Review Excellence Awards is the “peer” nomination process. Peer to peer recognition exemplifies an environment of collaboration and connectivity, and strengthens the bond between of the individuals in the SAM industry, therefore I recommend you take that opportunity and submit your nomination today”.

Colin Simmons, Kingfisher plc – Winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2016:

“I was privileged to be nominated for the ITAM Review Professional of the year in 2015 and then awarded the inaugural lifetime achievement award in 2016.  To achieve any award that recognises the contributions you have made to a particular project or initiative is an honour and a motivation.  To receive an award from an industry recognised organisation as a result of nominations from people outside of your own organisation, was truly a great surprise and an exceptional feeling.

I would urge companies and individuals to promote the good work they or their colleagues do as individuals or as teams, so that the IT industry sees more and more reasons why IT Asset Management is a key component of the overall management of a business and the costs associated with their business”.

Aspera – Winner of ITAM Tool Provider of the Year 2016:

“We’re proud to offer SAM solutions that generate such remarkable successes for our customers – and thrilled to have our achievements recognized by the ITAM Review”.
