Wisdom USA 2020

Ann Marsh, Medtronic

What is your Wisdom USA 2020 session called?

Oh no, another audit letter: Tips and tricks for getting the best result for your company.

What is your session about?

My session will give you tips that you can use as soon as you get back to help your organization be more audit ready, and also help you know what to do when that next audit letter comes.

How did you get started in ITAM?

I was working as a project manager after my previous job had been outsourced and I was approached by management to say they had this great opportunity for me to work with a few others and start an Asset Management program. This was 2005 so I had no idea what I was getting myself into but it has been a great journey.

If you could change 1 thing in the ITAM industry, what would it be?

Having some consistency across vendors on contracts and licensing models.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Helping people use their licenses and contracts more effectively – getting the full value out of them while being legal.

What should people talk to you about?

Minnesota, Rescue dogs and of course ITAM too.

What’s your favourite book?

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

If you had your own chat show – who would be the first guest?

Melinda Gates – she gets so overlooked – but has a great history in IT.
